Semi Dull Polyester Flame Retardant Yarn (semi matte polyester flame retardant yarn) is a functional yarn that adds TiO ₂ (titanium dioxide) to ordinary flame retardant polyester for semi matte treatment. Its core features are permanent flame retardancy, semi matte appearance, high strength durability, and easy dyeing.
1、 Flame retardant safety characteristics (core)
Self extinguishing upon leaving the fire: The limit oxygen index (LOI) is 28% -34%, and it does not burn when melted upon contact with fire. It self extinguishes within 3 seconds after leaving the fire.
Low smoke and low toxicity: mostly phosphorus based halogen-free flame retardant, with low smoke, no odor, and no melting droplets (high-end anti melting droplets) during combustion.
Durable and washable: Modified by copolymerization/blending, flame retardant and can withstand more than 50 water washes without failure.
Compliance certification: up to GB 20286 B1 level, UL94 V-0, EN 13501-1, etc.
2、 Semi dark (semi matte) appearance characteristics
Matte and Soft: Adding TiO ₂ during spinning eliminates the aurora of ordinary polyester, resulting in a natural and non glaring luster.
Uniform coloring: The semi matte surface has good diffuse reflection, high color fastness, small color difference, and fuller dark colors.
UV resistance: TiO ₂ improves outdoor weather resistance, anti-aging, and is not prone to yellowing.
3、 Physical and mechanical properties
High strength and wear resistance: strength of 3.5-4.5 cN/dtex, wear-resistant and wrinkle resistant, size stable (shrinkage rate ≤ 3%).
Heat resistance and stability: The melting point is about 230-260 ℃, and it is not easily deformed at high temperatures, with good thermal stability.
Chemical resistance: acid and alkali resistant, corrosion-resistant, not easily moldy, suitable for industrial/outdoor scenes.
4、 Texture and processability
Moderate dryness: drier than glossy polyester, softer than fully matte, with better drape.
Easy to process: can be spun, woven, knitted, non-woven fabric, suitable for curtains, protective clothing, seat fabrics, etc.
