        Semi Dull Filament Yarn Nylon 6(commonly known as "semi dull nylon 6 filament") is a continuous filament made by adding 0.3% -2% titanium dioxide (TiO ₂) matting agent during nylon 6 spinning. Its core characteristics are soft and non glaring luster, balanced mechanical and dyeing properties, strong processing adaptability, and a balance between appearance texture and durability. It is widely used in the textile and industrial fields. Below is a breakdown from the core dimensions to accurately match material selection and application requirements:
1、 Core appearance and optical characteristics (key differences from bright light/full extinction)
        Soft and semi matte texture: The extinction agent is evenly dispersed inside the fibers, scattering light and avoiding the mirror reflection of bright fibers. The fabric has a low-key and delicate appearance, suitable for scenes such as formal wear, underwear, home textiles, etc. that require a "high-end" luster, and also reduces visual fatigue under strong light.
        Gloss controllable and adjustable: By adjusting the amount of TiO ₂ added (0.5% -1.5% commonly used), precise control can be achieved between "slightly bright, semi dark, and matte" to meet the style requirements of different products. It retains better drape and three dimensionality than fully matte silk.
More stable color fastness: The matting agent does not affect dye adsorption, resulting in uniform color after dyeing and less prone to whitening. It is especially suitable for dark and bright fabrics, and has better color fastness to sunlight/water than some bright varieties (up to GB 3-4 or above).
2、 Processing and dyeing adaptability (suitable for large-scale production)
       Spinning and post-processing stability: The matting agent does not affect the spinning flowability and can be spun into various types of filaments such as POY, FDY, DTY, etc. The coefficient of variation of fracture strength is ≤ 3%, suitable for high-speed warping and weaving, reducing fiber breakage and defects.
       Balanced dyeing performance: good affinity for acidic and reactive dyes, high dyeing uniformity, stable color light, and strong compatibility with additives, suitable for "one-time dyeing in place" in mass production, reducing rework rate.
       Composite processing adaptation: It can be blended/interwoven with cotton, wool, polyester and other materials to enhance fabric strength and durability, while retaining the natural fiber feel; It can also be used for post-processing such as twisting, wrapping, and air deformation to expand product forms (such as elastic fibers, composite fibers).
3、 Chemical and Environmental Adaptability (Suitable for Multi scenario Use)
       Chemical resistance: resistant to most organic solvents, oil stains, weak acids and bases, suitable for scenarios such as tooling and filter materials that come into contact with chemicals; But it is not resistant to strong acids, strong bases, and phenolic substances, and long-term contact should be avoided.
       Anti aging and anti mildew: after adding antioxidant/UV stabilizer, the outdoor service life can reach 1-3 years (such as sunscreen, tent cloth); Has good anti mold properties, is not prone to mold growth, and is suitable for use in humid environments (such as home textiles and outdoor equipment).
       Recyclable and environmentally friendly: Thermoplastic materials can be recycled and spun, and some products are biodegradable (such as adding bio based components), in line with the trend of green production.
